This is a great opportunity to take your local operational management skillset to the next level.  Based in Takanini, Auckland you will oversee the successful operations of the Upper North Island. With an extensive, established and enthusiastic team behind you providing support, you'll be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the Upper North Island depots are running efficiently and effectively to maximise utilization and minimum cost to the organization  
  • Developing and implementing operations business strategies to enhance business growth

Role accountabilities include:

  • Ensuring all freight is moved in accordance with company guide lines, policies and procedures 
  • Staff management including recruitment, training, performance management, promoting a culture consistent with company values
  • Management of key customers in the Upper North Island Region 
  • Explore areas (including alternatives) for growth in consultation with the Business Development Team
  • Co-ordination of suppliers including Owner/Drivers
  • Preparation and adhering to budgets & forecasts, providing reports as required
  • Compliance, including H&S and transport regulations (a knowledgeable and keen team will support you)


Qualification and experience


We'd expect our ideal candidate to have the following:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the Transport field, with relevant Operations responsibilities, including staff management
  • Ability to travel around the North Island, including some nights away from home
  • Experience with Traffic Management technologies
  • A proven leader ready to empower a highly motivated team
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Experience leading significant technology implementation
  • Track record in promoting Company image and brand
  • Demonstrable experience in creating a culture of excellence
